Refund policy
Returns
All Rapid Deployment Shelter products come with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you purchase a Rapid Deployment Shelter product and are not totally satisfied, repack it and contact us for a return authorization number. Customers will be responsible for return shipping costs. Returns will ONLY be accepted for unused items. Used items will not be accepted and will be returned to the purchaser at the cost of return shipping or discarded after 30 days of receipt. Once you have been issued a return authorization number, send it back for a refund. Original shipping costs, any applicable rush fees, and a 3.5% order processing fee are non-refundable.
Defective Items
Please inspect all items upon receipt. If you receive an item that is defective or broken, STOP and contact us. We will provide you with a pre-paid return shipping label for an exchange or replacement. If a defective item is being returned for a refund rather than an exchange, it is handled no differently than standard refund requests, and the customer must cover the return shipping costs. This is to help avoid claims of defects in an attempt to avoid return shipping costs. To receive the return shipping label, follow the return procedure below. If returning for a replacement part, please only return the item needing replacement and keep all other parts, such as the floor, stakes, rain fly, etc. NOTE: Due to the size/weight of Obsidian shelters, pre-paid labels for Obsidian shelters must be shipped in the original manufacturer box. If a pre-paid label for an Obsidian shelter is used on any packaging other than the original box, additional shipping charges may apply to receive your exchange.
Warranty
Rapid Deployment Shelter is dedicated to producing the highest quality gear. We back up that commitment with a 3 year guarantee against any manufacturing defects on all shelters and a 1 year guarantee on everything else. If it fails, we've got you covered! This warranty applies to the original owner and requires proof of purchase. Our warranty entitles the original owner repair or replacement of the product or replacement with a comparable product of similar value at our discretion. This warranty is limited to Rapid Deployment Shelter products only and does not cover tears, broken or bent poles due to high wind or unattended use, aesthetic changes that do not affect the general operation of the product, accidental damage, misuse, sun damage or normal wear and tear. PLEASE NOTE: UV RAYS DAMAGE FABRIC so leaving a shelter out in a field for a year in the sun is not covered. In addition, this warranty does not cover items that were purchased “As-Is” including used, open box, or discontinued items sold at a discount.
This warranty applies only to customers who purchased directly from Rapid Deployment Shelter or an authorized dealer. Customers who purchased their Rapid Deployment Shelter products from an authorized dealer must submit any warranty claims through the dealer they purchased from.
Replacement parts can be ordered by emailing Info@RDSgear.com. All returns must have a Return Authorization #. Please call or send an email to Info@RDSgear.com for return instructions. Warranty claims will ONLY be processed for original purchasers. All warranty claims for Obsidian shelters must have the correct corresponding lot number to the date of original purchase.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, our customer service team will email you to confirm whether your refund is approved or rejected. Approved refunds will be issued within 24 hours to your original form of payment. Due to the varying processing times of your bank, this can take 7-10 days to appear on your statement.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Missing Items
PLEASE RETURN ALL ITEMS. All returns will be inspected upon arrival. Any missing items such as the tent floor, tent stakes, repair materials, etc. will be reduced at retail cost from any applicable refund.
Cancellation
You may cancel your Rapid Deployment Shelter order at any time before it has shipped and get a full refund minus a 3.5% order processing fee. This is NOT a restocking fee. This is the fee associated with processing the payment for your order, regardless of whether or not it ships. Once an order has shipped, it can no longer be canceled and will be processed as a customer return.
If you would like to cancel, please contact us to proceed with a refund. Please note that the refund may take up to 10 days to appear in your bank account.

If you need to exchange an item, send us an email at Info@RDSgear.com to request a return authorization #. Any associated shipping costs will apply.

You will be responsible for paying the shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
If you are returning an item, NOTE THE RETURN AUTHORIZATION # ON YOUR RETURN LABEL. Also, you should consider using a trackable shipping service AND purchasing shipping insurance. We can not guarantee that we will receive your returned item or that your item will not be lost or damaged in transit. All lost or damaged returns will not be refunded.
